George III Demi-lune, figured solid mahogany top & satinwood inlay

$845

An English George III demi lune table featuring a solid figured mahogany top with satinwood pilasters and banding, framed by striking stringing inlay. An attractive and usable antique with real age and character, ideal as a console or occasional table.

‘The table opens on brass hinges and is supported by a single flying leg, with the top indexed by a wooden rear lead-edge tenon. It is built using traditional block-rail construction to form the curved apron, with thick shop-sawn veneers (approximately 1/16").

The table stands on four simple tapered solid mahogany legs with stringing inlay and mahogany cuffs. Recently meticulously restored and refinished with a traditional shellac French polish, the table shows evidence of historical repairs—including leg stabilization and hinge-area work—reflecting long domestic use.

Now structurally sound, fully functional, and ready for continued use.

Dimensions: 29” H × 36” W × 17.5” D (35” when open)
